Dili – Anti-Corruption Commission (AAC) Commissioner Sergio Hornai led the Anti-Corruption Specialist (EAC) to commemorate the 9^th anniversary of the AAC by visiting Fitun Maubara construction shop, Aitula Fuel Station and ended with a half-day seminar attended the UNPAZ university students at Osindo Dili today (22/2).

During the commemoration of CAC’s anniversary, Commissioner Sergio Hornai called upon the private sector as an important partner for the public sector in the process of nation building of Timor-Leste to run their business through honesty to guarantee good governance in Timor-Leste.

 “We are celebrating the 9^th anniversary of CAC and we are here to convey a very clear and strong message to you (the private sector) that Timor-Leste has a great commitment to eradicating corruption… especially, we invite private sector to assist the public sector in terms of clean governance by not carrying out fake receits”said Commissioner Sergio Hornai to shop owner Fitun Maubara Colmera Dili.

Commissioner Sergio also visited the Aitula Comoro Fuel Station which has been supplying fuel to the government for more than 10 years. Commissioner Sergio reminds Aitula Fuel owners not to allow private cars and motorbikes to use government fuel coupons to refuel at the fuel station.

CAC terminated its anniversary celebration activities together with university student of UNPAZ Osindo Dili in a half-day seminar. Commissioner Sergio calls upon university students who will become future national leaders to this beloved country as an anti-corruption agent for the people of Timor-Leste. (*)
