Dili – On Thursday (7/11), a team from the Anti-Corruption Commission (CAC) led by Director of Services Support and Cooperation Carlos Bento Mau Bere held a courtesy meeting with Minister of Legislative Reform and Parliamentary Affairs Fidelis Magalhaes at the Palacio do Governo Dili.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the program of the Commission during 2018 and joint collaboration among CAC, government and UNODC as a preparation to hold a national workshop on the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) and a draft anti-corruption law that will be realized in November.
The meeting was discuss about implementation of Chapter 2 “Prevention” and Chapter 5 “Asset Recovery” of the United Nations Conventions against Corruption and national conference on VIII Constitutional Government’s promises to prevent and combat corruption.
The meeting was also discuss about joint development on National Strategic Plan against Corruption that was initiated and proposed by Minister Fidelis to be done next year 2019.
Minister Fidelis totally support CAC’s works and become one of the priority programs of the government to secure good governance that has become political top priority of Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak.
The meeting was participated by Director Investigation Augusto Castro, Chief of Cooperation Unit Joao do Rosario Correia, focal point of UNCAC and former Secretary Executive of CAC Alexandre Fausto Freitas and official of Cabinet Commissioner Afonso de Deus. (*)
