Dili – Today, Monday (19/3), Deputy Commissioner of Comissão Anti-Corrupcão (CAC) for Prevention and Public Awareness Raising Rui Pereira dos Santos accompanied by US Ambassador to Timor-Leste Ms. Kathleen Fizpatrick officially opened a four-day training to investigators of CAC, PSIC, PNTL and Customs at Hotel Ramelau Dili
Criminal Intelligence and Investigations training was facilitated and funded by the American Embassy in TL and provided by Homeland Security Investigations (ICE) and Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) based in Singapore.
Deputy Commissioner of CAC Rui dos Santos on his intervention asked trainees from judicial institutions and Customs Department to take this training seriously to gain new knowledge and strategic in terms of criminal intelligence and investigations for the good of public institutions where they serve.
“I hope you all attend this training well in order to enrich your knowledge and strengthen your skills as an investigator… to be implemented in your workplace after this training to benefit our people and our country” Said Deputy Commissioner Rui.
“This training is very important to further improve your knowledge and horizon on criminal intelligence and investigations part… hoping that through this training, you all will be smarter than corrupt people and do not give the corrupt people a chance to steal people’s money,”
The training for investigators of CAC, PNTL, PSIC and Customs is a continuation of training assistance provided by the US Embassy in TL to TL judicial institutions. (*)
