CAC Signs MoU With Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC)

IMG_1749Purtrajaya – Commissão Anti-Corrupção (CAC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on Thursday, September 3rd in International Convention of Putrajaya in conjunction with the 16th International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC).

Commissão Anti-Corrupção (CAC) was represented by Commissioner Aderito Antonio Pinto Tilman and Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) was represented by Deputy Commissioner for Prevention, Datuk HJ Mustafar Bin HJ Ali.

The signing was witnessed by Timor-Leste Ambassador to Malaysia, Mr. José António Amorim Dias and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department of Malaysia Senator Datuk Paul Low Seng Kuan.

Commissioner Tilman said “The signing of MoU with MACC is one of the strategic priorities defined in CAC Strategic Plan 2012-2020 (PECAC 2020) to strengthen institutional ties with long-established anti-corruption agencies in the region and also in compliance with UNCAC recommendation on the Chapter V-International Cooperation.”

Furthermore, “The MoU covered cooperation in several key areas including developing human resource, exchange of expertise, professional training courses and exchange of information and professional materials in the work of preventing and combating corruption” said Commissioner Tilman.

Deputy Commissioner MACC for Prevention, Datuk HJ Mustafar Bin HJ Ali said ”MACC is very pleased with MOU signing with CAC  today as it is the 14th MoUs signed by MACC with other anti-corruption agencies to strengthen institutional cooperation.”

CAC and MACC agreed to provide technical assistance depending on their operational capacities. This is the second MoU signed by CAC with anti-corruption agencies in the region. (*)
