National Parliament Elected Sergio for Commissioner of CAC

Dili – The National Parliament majority elected a former Director of Public Defense, Mr Sergio Hornai become Third Mandate Commissioner of Anti-Corruption Commission (CAC) on Tuesday (15/1).

The 57 members of National Parliament who attended the plenary session, had successfully, elected the new commissioner of CAC with 42 votes in favor, 2 abstain and the rest was against.

The newly elected Commissioner Hornai will substitute previous Commissioner Mr Tilman that had completed his mandate on July 15th 2018. After 6 month waiting the top leader of CAC, finally, CAC has got a new leader.

The ceremony of swear in new commissioner will be taken place in National Parliament on 21st January 2019. The mandate will be four years term (2019-2023).
