Dili – CAC commissioner Aderito accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Manuel Bucar, Director of Investigation Augosto Castro and Chief of Cooperation Unit João Correia do Rosario welcomed 15 students and lecturers from Victoria University (VU) Melbourne Australia today (12/7) at CAC Farol Dili office.
The purpose of VU Australia students conducting study tours at CAC is to have the opportunity to meet CAC leaders and to know about the function of the commission in ensuring that no corruption culture prevail in this beloved country and how Commission perform in events of corruption in various parts of Timorese society.
The students of Victorian University who are conducting this study tour majored in Arts and Education, Law and Justice where accompanied by their two lecturers; Dr. Siewfang Law and Mr Daniel Goldworthy.
ACC Commissioner Adérito Tilman said in his intervention that “The Victorian University is famous and very sweetest in the hearts and minds of Timorese people. academic community of Victorian University is a good friend of Timorese people in the past during our national liberation struggle,”.
On that occasion, Director of Investigation and Head of Cooperation Unit presented the Commission main tasks in accordance with law No. 8/2009, 15 July on Commission establishment. CAC leaders also explained challenges and obstacles that the commission had reached within eight years on its operation.
“I hope that VU academic communities still remain as a good friend of Timorese people now and in the future, so that CAC staff also have the opportunity to attend any training in VU Australia in the future,” Commissioner Tilman further saying (*)
